Abstract

The first impression is usually dependent on facial features. Disfigurement of the face due to any trauma is seen as a social stigma and not only affects the personality and psyche of an individual, but also their future. Amongst the various features that make up the human face, lips have been in considerable focus and contributor to facial aesthetics. The reconstruction of lip defects/ trauma represents a challenge to any surgeon because such anatomical structures have complex functions towards speech and facial expressions. In this case report, we are presenting peculiar case of postponed severed upper lip which was completely reconstructed with bilateral inferiorly based nasolabial flap.
