It can render facial disfigurement. The tumour is most frequently encountered in males than females with a ratio of 2:1. The peak incidence is in patients aged 40 - 60 years and the posterior mandible is slightly more affected than the maxilla. Segmental resection is a recommended surgical treatment and long-term postsurgical follow up is essential.
