Article Processing Charges (APCs)

The JESA will be introducing article processing charge (APC) at R5000 per submission, starting with submissions made from 24 July 2017 onwards. The APC is payable when the authors have received a notification: Submission accepted or Accept submission. This step is usually reached after a peer-review-revision-editing process has been satisfactorily completed. The process to generate invoice(s) and payment details for APC will only start when authors have received ‘accept submission' email. The peer- and editor reviewing activities are only preliminary assessment/standardisation steps and not paid for. In other words, no payment is required upfront or as at submission stage, but only after reviewers and editors have jointly decided to accept the submission for publication. In case the decision become 'not acceptable', your submission will be declined with no payment due from the author(s).
