Abstract

In March this year a prominent South African grassroots organisation, the Social Justice Coalition (SJC), announced that it would be taking the South African Police Service (SAPS) to court. Andrew Faull spoke to the SJC’s General Secretary, Phumeza Mlungwana, about crime and policing in Khayelitsha, Cape Town.

Andrew Faull, University of Cape Town

Andrew is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Cape Town's Centre of Criminology where he is currently writing a book exploring personal identity and police work in South Africa. He previously worked at the Institute for Security Studies, and as a police reservist in Cape Town and Pretoria.
