African Entomology is a publication of the Entomological Society of Southern Africa (ESSA).

    Obiter is published under the auspices of the Faculty of Law, Nelson Mandela University. It is a fully DHET (SA Dept. of Higher Education and Training) accredited journal publishing articles on topical legal issues and legal research.

  • Potchefstroom Electronic Law Journal

    The Potchefstroom Electronic Law Journal (PELJ/PER) is a DHET-accredited open access journal published by the Faculty of Law, North-West University, South Africa. PELJ/PER publishes ontributions relevant to legal development in a constitutional state. Thus, contributions dealing with any aspect or discipline of the law from any part of the world are welcome.


  • South African Crime Quarterly

    The South African Crime Quarterly (SACQ) is a journal co-published by the Justice and Violence Prevention Programme at the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) and the Centre of Law and Society (CLS) at the University of Cape Town. SACQ presents recent research results on crime, criminal justice, policing, prisons and incarceration, crime prevention, and criminal justice policy and legislation. SACQ aims to add balance and objectivity to the discourse on human security in Africa by providing timely empirical research and analysis to policy makers, area specialists, academics and students.

    The South African Dental Journal provides a platform for scientific communication in dentistry and disseminates news pertinent to the members of the South African Dental Association (SADA).  It is available as Open Access, which means your favourite dental journal is published on the Web, and available to all SADA members, non-SADA members and the general public.

  • South African Journal of Agricultural Extension (SAJAE)

    The South African Journal of Agricultural Extension (SAJAE) is a publication of the South African Society for Agricultural Extension (SASAE), and was published for the first time in 1966. The journal publishes scientific articles on extension and the extension profession, as well as rural development. Before articles are published, they are peer reviewed by a panel of Editorial Advisors. The journal transitioned to the Khulisa Journals platform during March 2021. It is available as open access.

    The South African Journal of Science is an open access, multidisciplinary journal published bimonthly by the Academy of Science of South Africa. Its objective is to promote the visibility and impact of South African and African research by publishing high-quality original research from Africa or on African-relevant issues that will be of interest to readers in any discipline and for the benefit of scholars, educators, the general public and policymakers. It also provides a forum for discussion of news and developments in research and higher education.

  • South African Journal of Sports Medicine

    The South African Journal of Sports Medicine (SA J Sports Med) is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research articles, reviews, commentaries, letters and case studies on topics related to the disciplines represented by the South African Sports Medicine Association. One volume is published a year with articles added as they are ready for publication. These disciplines include sports medicine, biokinetics, physiotherapy, exercise and sports science, dietetics and psychology. Material that is particularly unique and relevant to South Africa and its inhabitants are given preference; however, any other material of general interest and relevance will also be considered.

  • The African Journal of Information and Communication (AJIC)

    The African Journal of Information and Communication (AJIC) is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed, open access journal published by the LINK Centre, University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), Johannesburg. AJIC's content focuses on dimensions of digital, electronic and physical ecosystems that facilitate information, communication, innovation and transformation in African settings and in the broader Global South.

  • Tydskrif vir Letterkunde

    The Tydskrif vir Letterkunde (TL) is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal, published twice yearly by the Tydskrif vir Letterkunde Association. The journal publishes peer-reviewed research articles, overviews, review articles, reviews, essays, and book reviews in Afrikaans, Dutch, English and French.

  • Water SA

    Water SA is a multidisciplinary international journal publishing original research and review articles on all aspects of water science, technology, engineering and policy. The primary focus of the journal is on content that is relevant to the needs of Southern Africa, which includes research that is of broad international interest or of particular relevance to the African continent.

    Water SA is funded and published by the South African Water Research Commission and is issued quarterly (January, April, July, October).
