Abstract

In this paper, the author describes the process and findings of a critical appraisal of the literature related to the methods and tests used in the clinical assessment of hypotonia in children. A quantitative and qualitative analysis of the literature was undertaken with a specific search strategy and appraisal of methodological quality with use of the Oxford Centre for Evidence based Medicine (OCEBM) Levels of Evidence. A summary of the best evidence is reported, followed by the clinical significance and relevant limitations.
